
The English program of the Vietnamese American Training Center (VATC) is developed from the English program of the Vietnam USA Society English Training Service Center, (VUS-ESTC) from 1997 to 1999.
In 1997, under the Permit No. 2655/QHQT of The Ministry of Education and Training granted on 19 January 1997, the VUS English program was launched for English training with four campuses located at:
– 190 Pasteur Street., Dist.3, HCMC (main campus)
– 242 Tran Hung Dao Str., Dist. 1, HCMC
– 160 Dien Bien Phu Str., Dist. 3, HCMC
– 87C Tho Nhuom, Ha Noi
In 1999, operating under the name of Vietnamese American Training School following the Teaching Permit No. 47/GP-GDTX granted by HCMC Department of Education and Training on 6th May 1999, the school is entitled to teaching English (liable to grant English certificates at A, B and C levels) and Computing (granting computing certificates at A and B levels). The school has two campuses located at:
– 44 Truong Dinh Str., Dist. 3, HCMC (main campus)
– 471-473 Ly Thai To, Dist. 10, HCMC
In 2000, The Vietnamese American Training Center (VATC) was officially established under the Permit No. 03/GPND granted by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) on 5th January 2000. Besides teaching English and Computing, VATC is allowed to provide training courses of Business Administration, Secretarial Skills and Office Administration, Marketing and Sales, Accounting, Chinese, Tourism etc.
In 2001, VATC became the first international partner of the Cambridge University in Vietnam. The school has officially been appointed the Cambridge International Testing Center, code VN-106. Since then, for the first time the “on-site international training” program was organized in HCMC.
In December 2004, VATC became TOEIC Testing Center after the Signing Ceremony with TOEIC Vietnam, the official representative of ETS (Education Testing Services, America).
After over seven years of operation and development, with many achievements in education and training, VIETNAMESE AMERICAN TRAINING CENTER was officially approved by MOLISA to become VIETNAMESE AMERICAN VOCATIONAL TRAINING COLLEGE on 03 July 2007. The main campus is located at 21 Le Quy Don, Dist. 3, HCMC.
From VATC first days, the operation of the College has spread beyond HCMC to other regions across the country, creating a network of VATC with 27 campuses, consisting 16 campuses in HCMC and 11 branches in other provinces.
On 24 November 2007, VATC officially signed the Cooperation Agreement with the Broward College (BC), USA, to provide credit-based training to award AS degree. Majors consist of Information Technology, Business Administration, Hospitality and Tourism Management. As a result, VATC becomes the sole international partner of BC in Vietnam.
