Meet and Greet session with Broward College’s President – VATC Broward’s Students
On 21 May 2010, the Meet and Greet Session with Broward College’s President Jack David Armstrong and Vietnamese American Vocational Training College (VATC) Broward Program Students took place at the conference hall on 8th floor, 21 Le Quy Don, Dist 3, Ho Chi Minh City.
Opening the conference, Presidents of both Broward and VATC made opening speeches to talk about the joint programs and the achievements from this co-operation. Dr. David Moore, Associate Vice President of Broward College said: “In only 02 years, VATC has created hope and support for this joint program. There are hundreds of students studying in the Broward program at VATC and there are thousands of students enrolling in the coming academic year at VATC”. This is a positive signal when there are more students becoming acquainted with and studying in international programs right in Vietnam. After finishing 03 years in the College program, VATC students will be able to transfer to most University in United State. By following this pan way, students can save thousands of dollars for the same standard of education in USA. Dr. Nguyen The Bao said: “With our passion, we are trying to give our students a concrete foundation for their future. Nowadays, to be successful, all students must be fluent in English and using English in their specific major. With our joint programs, I am totally confident that our students shall be able to obtain that”.
After their speeches, VATC students also made a speech to express their feelings about the joint programs of these two enterprises. These speeches reflected student satisfaction and pride in having the chance to experience an international education environment right in Vietnam. Students also had the chance to talk directly with Broward College President – Mr. Jack David Armstrong regarding all the Broward programs at VATC and their advantages to Vietnam students through the co-operation with VATC.
The Meet & Greet Session marked the end of a productive 7-day trip in Vietnam. During the visit, Broward Delegates exchanged information with VATC Board of Principals and Deans about the text books as well as major courses carried out at VATC. In general, the co-operation deepened through this visit.
VATC is the first and only partner of Broward College in Vietnam. Present in Singapore since 1986, the Broward College programs having many years of success in Asia and other countries all over the world. Besides the partner in Vietnam, Broward College carries out its joint programs in: Singapore, India, Sri Lanka, China, Ecuador, Mexico and Spain. The main target of Broward College is bringing American Education to the local students who desire to attend American College but who are unable to attend in the United States.
